Marcos, you didn't think to BACK UP the first time you had an issue? Just downloading a backup of the database would've saved you all the trouble. You should be doing backups at least once every two weeks, no matter who your host is - not a single one is perfect and when you're at the mercy of computers and hardware, anything can happen.

I would definitely choose fatcow hosting again in the future if I wanted the hassle and headaches they provide. In 2010 we moved all of our website over to fatcow hosting after the service we had been using started offering sub par customer service. However in the last 4 months our account has been suspended numerous times. We call (because they have not bothered to call or email us, just take down all of our sites) and follow all of the instructions provided by tech support and the next day the site is suspended again. After pulling down all of our sites (over 30 websites) we discovered that the issue is that the fatcow servers have been hacked. They are blaming the end users when really the issue is on their servers. I sure hope someone at fatcow fixes the holes in their "custom control panel" so other people don't have to deal with this crap.

Hmm, I'm not the only one with WordPress MySQL issues. I was running a blog with fatcow for almost a year, all good, my database disappeared into thin air one day, called and they were able to restore it, I was pleased somehow. A week later it goes away again, but this time they reinstalled wordpress with a new database, and all is gone. A year worth of articles writings, photos, comments, posts plus all the non-blog pages content out into into space since all of that resides on the database. I purchased a template for my blog which was customized to the teeth, styles, scripts and few php hard codings, all gone. I do have a backup of my customized template but is not going to be restore to fatcow servers. Simple HTML sites work ok on fatcow but database CMS sites, run like hell away from them. Their policy according to the last tech I spoke to, is to keep only three days of database backup, WHAT?!!.
Shopping cart on fatcow is a joke, the only one that works well is the one they offer, ZenCart or something like that, any of the other carts, require some adjustments on the php.ini on their server and not be 100% the way it should. The last complaint, Magento is not supported on fatcow.
Anyways, go with Hostgator instead.

They have been infected with mad cow disease, and they would tell you is your fault for the lack of tables on MySQL, what a freaking joke, run away from them.

Hello,
Honestly my experience with FatCow was horrible there support didn't help me that much either I have asked them if they have a backup of my site when I modified a file for WordPress then everything went wrong and they said we can't help you with third party software then at HostGator which i'm currently using they do free backups of your site while fatcow will charge you extra just to do a backup.

Now if your like me who likes to get their hands dirty in code I would not recommend FatcCow simply because if you would like to install newer versions of PEAR packages they won't let you the solution I came up with is to install PEAR manually onto my account which eventually became broken. The same goes for Perl Modules. Then also there is no support for ruby on rails which is a new awesome language but sadly FatCow doesn't support it period while looking at other service providers they all support ruby on rails and FatCow seems to be the only one I can find that does not support it.

Simply put FatCow sucks all the way around. The only positive I can think of is that their design for the site including the control panel looks amazing but that is about it. I would recommend HostGator simply put they have an amazing support team, you can find awesome coupons for registering easily, well rounded CGI support for anyone, also free backups.

I had fatcow for a year and loved the service but to renew the second year it was a little too expensive for me. I chose to not renew my account for a second year and left it at that. Just today, fatcow decided to charge my account $107 for a second year that I chose NOT to renew. Talking to billing, they said it was due to some "tenchnical glitch". I'm sorry fatcow, but you can't just go around accidentally charging people over $100 dollars. Now i'm patiently waiting for my refund.

I unfortainitly have 3 accounts with fatcow. Ive been in this buissness for 16 years and never have had as much problems as I have with this hosting disservice.
From the minute you buy an account from them, they "had setup problems" with the hosting so i could not log in.
If you call them they try to sell you a bunch of crap that you do not need, and then they will "fix it" for you.

Then after a few months they changed the server my sites were on, and guess what didnt even tell anyone. So now i got pissed off customers that have sites down for 2 weeks because of the stupidty of fatcow. Hell I have had less problems with godaddy then these morons

Hello all! It is now about a year and a half later and I thought I would post an update.

After so many issues with FatCow, I was finally able to cancel and get a full refund so for that I'm grateful. I've been with Hostgator for about a year and I can't tell you WHAT A DIFFERENCE there is!!! As miserable as I was at Fatcow, I didn't even how how bad it was until I got GREAT service at Hostgator.

Thank gawd the FatCow chapter of my life is OVER! Yeah!

This is a SCAM website. They lie constantly and will try to bill you after you've left. Worst scam site I have ever dealt with.

DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

Just because my father knew my one security question to my account.. they transfered all my files to his hosting account with them. I am contacting a lawyer!
